AI-Native Product Engineer
- Remote, EMEA-friendly hours
- Full-time
- Small team at SpanDock
You ship with AI the way other people ship with an editor. You also read every diff it writes, and you notice when a pixel is off. SpanDock watches what AI coding tools do; you'll be the person who uses them best.
What you'll do
- Take features from a rough idea to production across the SpanDock hub, the desktop app, the dashboard and this website.
- Work with coding agents every day, and turn what you learn into better prompts, skills and guardrails for our customers.
- Own the quality of what you ship: tests, accessibility, performance and the small details in the copy.
- Talk to customers, read their telemetry questions, and build what would have answered them.
- Keep the codebase small and simple enough that a new person (or agent) can understand it in an afternoon.
What we're looking for
- You have shipped real software that real people use, and you can show it.
- You build with AI agents daily and have opinions about when not to.
- You care about perfection in the details: naming, edge cases, empty states, error messages.
- You think out of the box. When the obvious path is slow, you find a better one.
- You write clearly, in English, for people who weren't in the room.
Nice to have (never a reason not to apply)
- Go, TypeScript or both.
- Observability, telemetry or developer tools.
- A side project that made you lose sleep.
How we'll get to know each other
- 1The challenge. A 15-minute puzzle in a terminal in your browser. No sign-up, no recordings, no trick questions.
- 2Apply. Your name, a link to your work and a few lines on why you. No cover letter needed.
- 3A first conversation. 30 minutes with the founder: what you're looking for, and what we're building.
- 4Build or pitch together. Engineers pair with us on a small real task; sales candidates walk us through a deal they're proud of.
- 5Meet the team, then an offer. A relaxed call with the people you'd work with. We aim to decide within a week of it.
